Air controls

Air buttons and switches provide a simple way turn spa equipment on and off while keeping electrical connections at a safe distance from the water.

This was standard technology before the introduction of electronic controls (which can be installed next to the pool because they operate at low voltage), but air buttons and air switches are still popular today because they are very easy to use and ideal if you only want to control a few components, or if a complex electronic system is not appropriate for your spa.

A pneumatic control system consists of an air switch and a button, connected by pneumatic hose. The switch is connected to the wiring of the component that you want to switch on and off, and is located in a safe dry place, usually in a waterproof box. The button can be installed anywhere, as long as the respect the maximum length of pneumatic hose permitted by the combination of the switch and the button that you are using (anything up to 8 metres is fine in all cases). When you press the button, the air pressure is transmitted down the hose and activates the switch.
