Balboa circuit boards
To ensure that you order the correct motherboard, please check that you have the correct model number for your control system. You will find the model number either on the top of the control box, or on a label on the chip in the lower right-hand corner of the motherboard itself.
Do not be distracted by the part number printed on the bottom left-hand corner of the motherboard (it often says GS500Z). It is a generic reference to the series of circuit boards, not the exact model.
|cut| Be careful when replacing printed circuit boards! Make sure that you have the correct model and read the technical documentation before you start installing it. If in doubt, please contact us or your local spa technician.
Consult an electrician if you need to connect the spa to three-phase current. All Balboa printed circuit boards are delivered in single-phase configuration, and you will need to modify the wiring before connecting them to three-phase current. Mistakes can be dangerous to you, and are almost certainly fatal to the circuit board.
When configuring a replacement circuit board, do not assume that you should place all the jumpers and DIP switches in the same positions as on the original card, as this is almost certainly not the case. Your old motherboard probably has slightly different software than the new one. Please read and follow the documentation for the new card, and pay no attention to the configuration of the old circuit board.
