How to measure a spa cover
If possible, measure your old cover if it is not warped or if its shape or size has not changed since you purchased it, and if you are satisfied with the way the cover fits. Otherwise, measure the spa.
All dimensions must be given in centimetres, without decimal places. Round up to the nearest centimetre if necessary, unless otherwise specified. A cover that is slightly larger than the spa will fit and function just fine, but a cover that is significantly too small may suffer some loss in heat retention. Double-check your measurements for accuracy.
Length
The length is the distance perpendicular to the fold (in other words, the fold will be under the mid-point of your tape measure). This is usually the longest dimension of a rectangular cover, but not always. The maximum cover length that we can supply is 240 cm, and the minimum is 100 cm.
Width
The width is the length of the fold, which us usually, but not always, the shorter dimension on a rectangular cover. As with the length, it must be between 100 cm and 240 cm.
Diameter
The easiest way to accurately measure the diameter of a round cover is to measure the length of the center fold.
Radius for covers with rounded corners
In the documentation section at the bottom of this page, you will find two documents that will give you the procedure to follow to measure the radius. There are 2 methods.
Measuring with a tape measure and ruler: Place a ruler firmly against the edge of the cover with the ruler protruding and measure the distance from the extended corner of the spa to the point where the curve of the spa corner first touches the edge. If in doubt, round down to the nearest centimetre.
Measuring with a set square: Place the measuring square firmly against the 2 edges of the cover and measure the distance from the extended corner of the spa to the point where the spa corner curve first touches the edge. If in doubt, round down to the nearest centimetre.
If you wish to use the square to measure the radius of the cover, you can order it on our website. Once you have taken the measurements, if you do not want to keep it, you can contact us and we will send you a return slip to enable you to return it. Upon receipt, we will issue a refund.
Skirt length
The skirt is the overhanging flap, extending from the bottom edge of the spa cover, which is the top of the spa's rim. The maximum length, and also the most common, is 13 cm.
Strap length
The strap length is measured from the bottom of the cover, which is the top of the spa rim, to the top of the buckle. The most common length is 20 cm.
